Why Free Standing Clearance Bars Are Installed?
Freestanding clearance bars, for unawares, are a
self-supporting blockade with different heights to prevent vehicles from
passing with unauthorized loads or from the unauthorized way. You might have
seen these bars installed in many places. They are installed with a purpose
that I am going to tell you in this blog.
Underpass: One common place where you can see these bars installed is underpass.
Since an underpass has a fixed height and width, a vehicle with only certain
heights can pass through it. It is installed to warn drivers of the height so
that they do not end up crashing into the upper part of an underpass. These
bars save unnecessary accidents and many lives.
Local Road: Trucks and
other vehicles with overheight are not allowed to pass through local roads
however, many stubborn drivers illegally drive through local roads to use
shortcuts. To force these drivers to drive through the highway, the govt.
install clearance bars.
Certain Bridges: There are
many bridges that can’t handle the load of overheight or overweight vehicles.
The internet is full of news about bridge collapse or other road accident
involving such vehicles. Unfortunately, despite seeing the warning sign, drunk
or stubborn drivers try to drive through and end up meeting with an accident
that risks many lives. Therefore, the govt. installs clearance bars to block
such vehicles from entering such types of bridges.
Parking Lots: Some parking
lots do not allow parking of overheight vehicle and use freestanding clearance bars to warn drivers about the height as
well as weight.
These bars are available in
different heights and can be installed anywhere. They are also available in
different colors for better visibility in the night. One can choose bars with
polyethylene design that does not require maintenance and look new for years
without cracking, fading or rusting.
